Your way to MSE 2026

The international airport Frankfurt Rhein-Main is located 25 km (15.5 miles) from Darmstadt. At the airport, regional bus lines depart from arrivals area B at Terminal 1 and arrivals areas D+E at Terminal 2. We recommend the express bus AirLiner (Terminals 1 and 2), which offers a convenient and fast 30-minute connection from the airport to Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof (main station), Luisenplatz and darmstadtium Congress Centre.

From Darmstadt main station and Luisenplatz, public transport trains and busses take you to the following TU campus locations.

Despite its name, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is over 100 kilometres from Frankfurt. A shuttle bus runs from Frankfurt-Hahn to Mainz and Frankfurt Central Station or Frankfurt Airport. From there, you can continue your journey to Darmstadt by public transport.

ICE, IC and EC trains stop at Darmstadt Station, which means it is very well connected with the German distance railway network. There are regional connections with Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, Aschaffenburg, Mannheim and Heidelberg as well as Erbach and Eberbach.

From Darmstadt Main Station (Hauptbahnhof):

If your train arrives at Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof, there are several convenient ways to reach the conference venue at Technical University of Darmstadt:

1. By tram
Tram lines 2 (TU Lichtwiese/Campus) and 3 (Lichtenbergschule) depart regularly from the main station. Please exit at Schloss. From there, the venue is within a short walking distance via Karolinenplatz.

2. By bus
Bus lines F (Oberwaldhaus), H (Kranichstein Kesselhutweg), and K (Alfred-Messel-Weg) provide direct connections from the main station. Please exit at Schloss, which is located close to the central campus.

3. By taxi
Taxis are available directly in front of the main entrance of Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof. The journey to the city center and the university campus typically takes only a few minutes.

4. On foot
For those who prefer walking, the city center and the TU Darmstadt campus can be reached on foot in approximately 20–25 minutes, depending on the exact destination.

From Frankfurt Main Station (Hauptbahnhof):

If your train arrives at Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof, there are several convenient ways to reach the conference venue at Technical University of Darmstadt:

1. By regional train (recommended)
Frequent regional trains (RE60, RB68) connect Frankfurt Main Station to Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof. The journey takes approximately 20–30 minutes. From Darmstadt Main Station, please follow the local transport options described above.

2. By taxi or rental car
Taxis or Rental cars are available at the main entrance of Frankfurt Main Station. A direct journey to TU Darmstadt takes approximately 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

From motorway junction ‘Autobahnkreuz Darmstadt’, follow the signs towards the city centre (Darmstadt/Stadtmitte) on Rheinstraße/B26 into the City-Ring-Tunnel.

In the City-Ring-Tunnel, take the exit left, then turn left at the next traffic light onto Kirchstraße. Continue to the second light and turn into Alexanderstraße until you reach the entrance to the Schlossgarage/Karolinenplatz multi-storey car park on the left.
 

Parking

Please follow the on-site signage to the designated visitor parking areas. Only the blue-marked parking spaces P1–P11 are publicly accessible and subject to a fee.
