Highlighted guest country USA

For 2016 the MSE elects the U.S. as highlighted guest country for the MSE 2016 Congress and is very happy to welcome the MRS (The Materials Research Society) and the TMS (The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society). It is envisaged to intensify the existing relations and cooperation between DGM and both US societies.

The MRS is one of the leading organizations of materials research worldwide with almost 16,000 material researchers from academia, industry and government, and a recognized leader in the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research.

The TMS is a rare professional organization that encompasses the entire range of materials and engineering, from minerals processing and primary metals production to basic research and the advanced applications of materials.

The program will take place at S1I05 (Altes Maschinenhaus) and Lounge at the Karo5, S1I01 of the TU Darmstadt.

50 FREE registrations for MRS University Chapters’ and TMS student representatives

Students and young scientists will benefit from specific promotion programs. For MRS University Chapters’ and TMS student representatives, FREE registration will be granted to 25 students each. This registration will be offered on “first come – first served” basis.

If you are a MRS member you can directly register (with abstract necessary, deadline March 31st) at: https://mse-congress.de/home/. Note that there will be no charges for creating an account or submitting an abstract. To get your free ticket send an additional email to mse@mse-congress.de with your full name and MRS membership number. A confirmation email will be returned if selected.

TMS member free tickets are available for students with abstract submission (deadline March 31st). Register online at: https://mse-congress.de/home/ (with abstract). Note that there will be no charges for creating an account or submitting an abstract. Once you have submitted your abstract, fill out the MSE 2016 Free Student Registration Request form.

Following March 31st all registered students (MRS and TMS) will get a confirmation mail for their free ticket.


During the conference, there will be several activities for MRS University Chapter representatives, TMS representatives and Jung-DGM members (the German equivalent to MRS University Chapters). After the Congress takes place, the MRS University Chapter at KIT will offer an additional program to take place on Sept 30th – Oct 1st 2016.
